School

St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School is a four-form entry secondary grammar school for girls (with a mixed sixth form). It was founded in 1908 by the Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus, the school opened its doors on St Michael’s day. It joined the Loreto English Education Network (LEEN) in 2019 and the Loreto sisters became the Trustees of the school. Our mission is to enable our students to make full use of their God-given talents in order to become successful and active citizens in our modern society; to get themselves into positions of power and influence so that they have the opportunity to make changes which will align our world more closely with the teachings of Jesus and to follow the example of Mary Ward (the foundress of the Loreto Sisters). The academic development of our students goes hand in hand with their spiritual and personal development.
