Articulation 2025
On 20th January Eadie in Yr12 delivered her presentation on Paula Rego's drawing 'War' made in 2003 at the Courtauld Institute at their Kings Cross campus in the Articulation London heat 2025, a public speaking competition about art.
She had made fantastic parallels of this large pastel drawing using of rabbits, normally associated with being cute and cuddly, into victims of war. The adjudicator was the art historian Alice Dodds who commended Eadie saying 'Your foregrounding of the context of Rego’s War (2003) was powerful, and you drew this well into a subtle and sensitive visual analysis to convince us of why Rego’s works remain so relevant and important today. A thought-provoking presentation!'
Whilst Eadie did not win the heat, where the competition was really strong, she should be proud of what she achieved. Her talk was fascinating and made us reflect on the depiction of victims of war in a new and fascinating way through the art of Rego.
Well done Eadie.
